Preparation
Preparation for some treatments is key to getting the most out of your appointment. For best results, please ensure the following:
Waxing
- At least 5mm of hair growth. For most this means no shaving or hair removal creams for 2-3 weeks before your appointment
- No sunbathing, sunbeds or heat treatments are advised for 24hrs before your appointment
- Any fake tan on the skin will be removed as a result of waxing, it is therefore advised to apply 48hrs after your appointment rather than prior to
- No moisturiser or body oils on the skin when you arrive for your appointment
- For body waxing, please wear clean, loose-fitting clothes to your appointment
- For facial waxing, if you are using any Retinoids in your skincare, avoid using these at least 7 days before your appointment to avoid any skin abrasions
Tinting
- Please ensure you have booked a patch test at least 24hrs before your appointment
- For brow tinting, please ensure there is no fake tan on your face prior to your appointment. This can dramatically alter the finished colour and longevity of the tint
Brow Lamination
- Please ensure you have booked a patch test at least 24hrs before your appointment
- Leave your brows to grow as much as possible for at least 2/3 weeks before your appointment. This is to ensure maximum hair growth for best results
- Brow Lamination can only be performed (at the very most) every 8-12 weeks. If you have received the treatment previously, please ensure you leave this amount of time before making an appointment to have it again. This is to avoid over-processing of your brow hair
- If you are using any Retinoids in your skincare, avoid using these at least 7 days before your appointment to avoid any skin abrasions during waxing
- Please bear in mind you will need to keep brows completely dry for 24hrs after treatment, so washing hair the morning of your appointment is advised
Cryotherapy
In terms of preparation just before your appointment, there is nothing you need to do on the day. However it is strongly advised you speak to a medical professional prior to your appointment to ensure the lesion we are removing is suitable for Cryotherapy
Aftercare
Aftercare is vitally important for many treatments to ensure you obtain and maintain maximum results following your appointment. The following should be avoided for 24-48hrs after your appointment.
Waxing
- Swimming, Hot tubs, Saunas, Steam Rooms
- Any form of exercise
- Fake tanning
- Sunbathing
- Sexual Activity (Intimate Waxing only!)
- Exfoliating
- Use of overly perfumed or scented products, deodorants, body sprays etc
After the initial 48hrs following waxing, ensure you always wear an SPF on any areas you have had waxed, and gently exfoliate and moisturise regularly (twice weekly) to avoid ingrown hairs where possible. Post wax products are available to purchase in-salon if required
Please Note: The first few times you get waxed, you may notice a small amount of regrowth after a week or so. It can take several treatments for your hair to get on a cycle that gives the best results. Please don't shave, tweeze or use hair removal cream between appointments. Regular waxing every 4-6 weeks is recommended for optimal results
Brow Lamination
- You are advised to avoid getting the brows wet for 24hrs after treatment.
- It is strongly advised to set the brows with a mascara wand after showering, to keep brows hairs in the direction they have been set, otherwise they can dry looking a little messy and are difficult to tame. 'Set When Wet' is the Brow Lamination motto!
- The use of a good quality brow/lash conditioner is highly recommended if you are regularly having this treatment, to ensure the hair stays conditioned and hydrated. These are available to purchase in salon - please ask for details during your appointment
You will be reminded of all of the above immediately following your appointment, and if you have any questions prior to visiting, please don't hesitate to get in touch
Cryotherapy
Healing is generally very straightforward, however full healing for most isn't seen until 4-6 weeks following treatment.
Immediately following your appointment, the area treated will look red and possibly raised and the area can feel itchy due to the natural histamine response of the skin. The following recommendations apply to ensure full healing:
- The area must not be touched, scratched or picked following treatment
- Depending on what is being treated and where, a small blister or scab can form in the hours/days following treatment. This must also be left to heal naturally and not touched, scratched or picked
- If irritation occurs during healing the lesion can be covered with a plaster
- No face/body scrubs to be used on the area until fully healed
- Area treated must not be exposed to extreme sunlight for at least 6 weeks
- It is recommended to use sun block (factor 50) to protect treated areas
